Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data we process when you use taxioma.co.cr or contact us, what we use it for, and what you can do about it.
Last updated:
1. Data controller
Taxioma, with offices in Coronado, San José, Costa Rica, is responsible for the personal data collected through this site. For anything related to your data, write to [email protected].
2. What we collect
Only what you give us voluntarily when you contact us:
- Contact form: name, email address, phone number (optional), and the message you write.
- Call booking: whatever you enter in Cal.com when booking — usually name, email, and the slot you pick.
- Email, phone, or WhatsApp: whatever you choose to include in your message.
- Technical data: our hosting provider automatically logs the IP address and request data, for security and abuse detection.
3. What we use it for
We process that data only to:
- Answer your inquiry and follow up on it.
- Prepare a service proposal if you ask for one.
- Deliver the engaged services, once we get to that point.
- Protect the site from abuse and automated submissions.
4. Legal basis and consent
Processing is based on the consent you give when you send us your data, and on performance of the contract once you are a client. We operate under Law No. 8968, Costa Rica's Personal Data Protection Act, and its regulations.
We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it to anyone.
5. Who we share it with
We do not pass your data to third parties for their own purposes. We do work with providers that process it on our behalf so the site can function:
- mailer.shipease.ai — processes contact form submissions and logs attempts for abuse control.
- Cal.com — handles call booking, if you use that button.
- Cloudflare — hosts and delivers the site; logs technical request data.
- Google Analytics — measures how the site is used; see the analytics section.
- Google Fonts — serves the site's typefaces. Loading them discloses your IP address to Google.
- WhatsApp (Meta) and Instagram — only if you choose to contact us there, under their own policies.
6. Analytics
To see which pages are useful and improve the site we use two measurement tools:
- Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts how many visits the site gets and which pages are read. It uses no cookies and no browser fingerprinting, does not track visitors across sites, and cannot identify anyone.
- Google Analytics 4, by Google LLC, which measures the pages visited, how long they are viewed, and whether the WhatsApp, phone or scheduling buttons are clicked or the contact form is sent. It never receives what you type in the form.
7. Cookies
Google Analytics only uses cookies if you accept them in the notice shown when you arrive. If you decline, or until you decide, no cookie is stored in your browser: Google only receives anonymous pings, with no identifier, that it uses to estimate the number of visits. The cookies set when you accept (_ga and _ga_*) last up to 2 years.
We use no advertising or remarketing cookies, and measurement data is not used to show you ads. Google processes this data on servers outside Costa Rica.
You can change your choice at any time from the “Cookie preferences” button at the bottom of every page, or by clearing your browser's cookies.
8. Local storage
The site stores three values in your browser's local storage: the language you chose, whether you already dismissed the language notice, and your choice about analytics cookies. They never leave your device, never reach us, and you can remove them by clearing the site's data in your browser.
9. How long we keep it
Inquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept for as long as needed to handle them and, at most, while they may still be relevant for following up.
If you become a client, your data and accounting records are kept for the duration of the relationship and afterwards for the periods required by Costa Rican tax and commercial law.
10. Transfers outside Costa Rica
Some of the providers listed above run servers outside Costa Rica. By using the site or writing to us, you understand that your data may be processed in those jurisdictions under the safeguards those providers offer.
11. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct, update, or delete your data, and to withdraw the consent you gave us.
To do so, write to [email protected] stating what you want. We respond within the timeframes set by Law 8968.
If you believe your request was not handled properly, you may turn to PRODHAB, Costa Rica's data protection authority.
12. Security
The site is always served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and the contact form validates the request origin and applies rate limits. No system is infallible, but we apply reasonable measures to protect the information you trust us with.
13. Minors
Our services are aimed at companies and individuals with business activity. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and its date. We suggest checking back from time to time.
